Quit smoking progressDay 3: :( getting there – painfully slow ;) |
I really like the morning breeze. It is still cool enough to flood the house with fresh air. Breakfast on the balcony is very enjoyable, just wish the view would be the Toscana or the whispering sound of waves breaking softly on the sandy beach somewhere tropical.
I saw a friend off at the airport yesterday. Although we have not seen each other in more than 20 years it seemed like I have seen her just yesterday. I guess there are bonds you have at times which outlast time.
So I missed it all together again. The blooms are gone around the memorial. Took some ok pictures at Hains point.
Chexy is getting a tattoo today, my chance to watch it happen. Actually I never really been in a tattoo parlor before in the US, I guess there was never a need for it. Asia was a different story, just fascinating how they do things there.

iPad or not ipadAs I’m reading the TIME magazine article about the iPad I wonder why Microsoft or any of the other big players in the computer market have not had this revelation about ten years ago. Microsoft et al tried to introduce the pad centuries ago, but did not explain how to use it. The software was not fun to use either. Microsoft did it centuries ago, creating a niche market and forcing their way onto the world of computers. Why is it so amazing that Apple does the same thing now? The technology has been around for a long time, the failure to market it the right way is solely on the shoulders of the manufacturers. Apple created a “want product” thanks to the extended use of the iPhone. The switch to a notebook was somewhat obvious, the use of a GSM phone for world travelers is obvious (except Asia), the need to communicate is obvious etc etc… but the switch to the iPad is not, especially after people still getting used to note books connected via WiFi. It says in the article that even Steve Jobs does not know what it is for (he knows). BTW the only relevant paragraph in this article is the mention of the use of the iPad as a true household computer, everything else turned out the be just the glorious admiration and being in the “mother ship” bs of a first time Apple user. Can’t even tell him to stay objective since everybody and their mother is harping about it. Bill Gates are you listening? Apple’s end users promote their products in a big way (free of charge), your users are still gnawing on your operating system to find flaws. |
